Founded in 2007 by Gerald Prodon, Stungun Aquatics began as a modest betta and guppy breeding hobby on a small hog farm in Bulacan. Recognizing the low overhead and strong market potential of ornamental fish, Gerald transitioned fully into the industry, launching a dedicated transshipping and import service by 2010. While an initial push into international exports in 2013 was paused due to economic and regulatory challenges, the business continued to mature. The definitive turning point arrived during the 2020 pandemic. As the global demand for home aquariums soared, Gerald’s siblings joined the venture to restructure operations, optimize workflows, and officially incorporate the business as Stungun Ornamental Fishes Inc. Through the collective vision and hard work of the three siblings, the corporation successfully navigated complex international regulations, effectively opening global export pathways for local Filipino breeders.
